The GPS positioning system for offshore pile driving consists of a GPS receiver system supplemented with angle incidence transducers, laser range finders and instrument measuring elevation of pile head The system, which has been successfully used in a project, has solved the monitoring of pile positioning and driving in piling works far off from the shore The paper presents an introduction to the major technical specifications, scope of monitoring,and function of the system; development of the system structure; key technology employed, derivation of equations;and results of practical use of the system
