A general review and features of the papers for the 5th International Conference for Coastal & Port Engineering in Developing Countries are presented by means of data retrieval.A total of 217 papers and resumes were presented to the Conference,covering nine major topics such as sediment,waves,coastal protection,techniques for measuring and surveying,planning,structure, navigation channels,environment and sustainable development.The papers for this Conference are characterized by the increase of the number of academic research papers,better quality of papers,attention drawn to the problems generally noted by the human society,rapid application of high technology and wide use of commercial software.
