Abstract：To ensure the safety and accessibility of the“Golden Channel”of Yangtze Estuary，to improve the management
and monitoring during the channel regulating construction，and to enrich reference resources for the channel planning，an AIS
platform for channel management is developed to fulfill the demands of navigation channel administration， construction
supervision，planning & statistics. AIS platform is designed basing on the basic functions of AIS that it can transfer the static
and dynamic information of the ship and display its location on the electronic chart in real time. The functions of the AIS
platform have been validated in practice with favorable results.
