Abstract:The front wave crest height of large open sea circular caisson under wave action, which is composed of the reflected
wave and incident wave by caisson's self. The front wave crest height is one of the important parameters to determine the top
elevation of terminal. According to amplitude wave theory and wave-energy flow conservation principle,this paper deduces
approximate solution of the front wave crest height. From the result of comparing theory results with experimental data,it
indicates that the proposed method is correct. In the sake of applying the proposed method to practice project,empirical
coefficient is introduced to the proposed method. Finally,a simply,accurate and uniform expression can be used to calculate
the front wave crest height of large open sea circular caisson for engineering design.
