The foundation of a sea dike in Tianjin port improved with surcharge preloading is modeled with the
infinite-difference method of FLAC3D，a loading model for surcharge preloading is established，the results of the modeling are
compared to the in-situ results，and the characteristics of the settlement，displacement and stress of the dike foundation are
obtained，proposing recommendations for site works and in-situ testing and measurement.
