Through the collection of observed data of tides and currents since the building of Jingtang port area in Tangshan
Port, the tide characteristics in surrounding sea area and the current characteristics of different sea areas are analyzed. The
analysis shows that the port construction has insignificant effect on tidal characteristics，along with the port construction，the
construction of port structures and the resultant changes of the terrain，the flow field in the sea near the port is changed，but
the impact on farther area currents is decreased gradually.
