In order to confirm the safety and reliability of MSS45 bridge-building machine during construction and to provide
basis for setting up reasonable pre-cambers it is necessary to carry out pre-loading tests on the bridge builder before the
commencement of a project. The characteristic tensile points of various parts of the bridge building machine and the location of
points to measure the deflection of main girders were determined according to the results of finite element analysis of the MSS45
bridge-building machine. The test results show that the theoretical values at the measuring points are closer to the measured
values and the bridge-building machine is safe and reliable.
