With the maintenance of steel tubular piles for a marine wharf in South China being taken into consideration，the
corroding features of steel tubular piles were analyzed and measures against corrosion were compared. Consequently，a coating
protection system was finally designed for steel tubular piles located in splash and tidal zones, where the corrosion is the most
serious，and the design was implemented and verified on the project. The design and application of the coating protection
system effectively solved the problem of short protection period when a traditional measure is taken and obtained a good
protective result in this region, providing also references for design and construction of similar projects.
