Self-compacting concrete is a kind of high performance concrete，which is little used in port works in China，thus
restricting the development of its predominance. In this paper， the recent advances on workability and mix design of
self-compacting concrete used abroad are reviewed and the engineering application of self-compacting concrete and key
techniques to be solved both at home and abroad are presented. It is hoped that the study may provide some references for
practical engineering works.
