Model tests were carried out to observe the sectional stability of chamfered vertical breakwater under wave actions,
wave overtopping on the top of breakwater and force on the breakwater and contrast analyses were made of the theoretical value
of wave force which is calculated according to Code of Hydrology for Sea Harbour and Code for Design and Construction of
Breakwater,the results show that a vertical breakwater with chamfered breast wall as the superstructure has the advantages of
reducing the horizontal pressure of wave,increasing the vertical pressure and improving the stability of breakwater. And
through the generalized force calculation of the measured wave force,it indicates that the section of the chamfered vertical
breakwater is overall stable.
