Abstract：GPRS/SMS intelligent remote telemetry system has the characteristics of low cost，high precision，long range
transmission，high reliability，low power consumption，etc. Applying the cathodic protection system in a steel structure can
quickly monitor online the protection situation of the steel structure with real-time. This paper briefly introduces the structure
and basic principle of the system，and，in combination with the application of the system in the first phase of Caofeidian Ore
Terminal, discusses the design，installation，modification and using effect of the system.
