Abstract:The capping block on E34 - E39 for the east approach (C-section) of Guangdong Nan'ao bridge in shallow
water is a mass concrete structure of 7.1 m伊6.4 m伊2.5 m. Based on the Midas/Civil 2010 finite element analysis software,the
hydration heat numerical analysis model of mass concrete pile capping is built. The temperature stress of concrete is calculated
separately in concrete with cooling water pipes and without cooling water pipes. And the calculation results are applied to
guide the field constructions. The application examples proved that the technical measures could effectively avoid concrete
cracking and ensure construction quality of mass concrete.
