Abstract:Using new de-icing salt to remove ice and snow makes the durability deterioration of asphalt pavement caused by
asphalt softening,exfoliation of asphaltic membranous,unconsolidated mixture,etc. This paper simulates the erosion envi原
ronment of asphalt pavement,measures the properties of asphalt binder,the adhesion between asphalt and mineral aggre原
gate,the splitting tensile strength of asphalt mixture specimen and other indexes to evaluate the property changes of which in
different de-icing salt concentration and erosion time. The results show that the erosion effect of de-icing salt leads to the soft原
ening of asphalt,and influences the adhesion of asphalt and aggregates, appears the exfoliation of asphaltic membranous and
reduces the splitting tensile strength of asphalt mixture. The contrast tests indicate:modified asphalt is superior to the base as原
phalt in the de-icing salt resistance,slightly increase the asphalt contents have no positive effect to improve the erosion ca原
pacity of de-icing salt.
