Abstract:Based on an actual project of cement deep mixing for the ground improvement of approach in Tianjin, numerical
study was performed with finite element method. The simulation result was compared with the field monitoring data. The result
showed that the calculated value of soil pressure and pore water pressure from numerical model matched the value from field
monitoring fairly well. This proved the reasonableness of the numerical model. The calculated result of displacement showed
that the cement deep mixing method can control the displacement of ground well. This proved the effectively of this ground
improvement method.
