Abstract:According to the construction experience of mineral terminal for Lobito Port in Angola,this paper introduces
briefly the ground improvement technique and the caisson installation method of the overseas gravity wharf,analyzes and
studies the sedimentation and displacement characters by observation of the caisson during the construction. The results indi原
cate that sedimentation value of the caisson is small and the sedimentation curve is accord with a customarily sedimentation
rule,the results also indicate that there are no displacement after the caisson is backfilled with the sand. The observation
analysis also explains that the upper structure ought to start about two months after the caisson is backfilled.
