Abstract：Based on Sand Compaction Piles （SCP） as a new method for offshore ground improvement，the paper introduces
the its principles and characteristics according to Island & Tunnel Works of Hongkong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. Meanwhile，
this paper summarizes relevant achievements of site load-board test for SCP，introduces design option，calculation methods
and layout plan for different replacement ratio of SCP，analyzes the construction ability of offshore SCP at present in China，
summarizes and concludes the construction efficiency and quality controlling measurements of offshore SCP. It provides the
foundation for the marketing and application of this construction method.
