Abstract：Based on the structural characteristics of the artificial island wall protection steel cylinder of Hongkong-Zhuhai-
Macao Bridge Island-tunnel project，including large diameter，high altitude, thick wall，huge size but poor radial stiffness，
and combined with production site conditions，the steel cylinder was divided into upper and down sections, and single section
was divided into six plate elements with vertical block method, then the closed overall process scheme was lifted in outfield.
This paper also analyzes process difficulties and countermeasures, and finally details the process of steel cylinder plate element
production，field assembly，connection and closure of the upper and lower sections，wide mortise fabrication and installation
as well as its shipment or transshipment，which has great reference significance for future similar ultra-large-diameter steel
cylinders.
