Blasting toe-shooting technique is widely applied in under-water structure project. Deep soft subgrade exists in
most parts of external revetment in B-section of Zhangzhou artificial islands reclamation project，and riprapping blasting toeshooting
methods are applied in soft subgrade improvement based on the design criteria. According to typical test construction，
earthwork balance analysis and borehole detection and adjusted blasting parameters，the method ensured the expectable bot原
tom width and depth of external revetment. At the meantime，the amount of work to trim slopes was reduced. It is a successful
application of blasting toe-shooting methods of deep soft subgrade improvement in the design and construction of external
revetment.
