Yueqing Bay is a typical strong tidal，with a large tidal range and tide flow，good waves cover conditions，low
sediment concentration features. The siltation monitoring shows that the siltation is small in normal weather condition and
roughly equal in winter and summer. After measuring the topographic development in the trial dredged channel during the pe原
riod of typhoon Morakot，and analyzing the depositional hydrodynamic environment and the sediment source，a conclusion is
made that the sudden siltation will not happen in the harbor basin of Yueqing Bay. It is feasible that Yueqing Bay in shallow
water can be used to construct a port with deep water depth.
