The cross-flow in the channel at the entrance of an encircle breakwater has always been the focus of attention. For
the Lianyun and Xuwei harbor districts of Lianyungang Port,the cross-flow under different tidal ranges were simulated by a
2D current numerical modal and the correlativity between a tidal range and a cross-flow was established to explore the application. The results show that:for the encircle breakwater at Lianyungang sea area, the maximum cross-flow of channel at entrance is dominated by flood tide,and a curve with high degree of correlation can be fitted. On the application side, with the
cumulative frequency analysis of flood tidal ranges based on tide tables,the cross-flow of channel at entrance with different
cumulative frequency can be simulated by the fitting relationship,which can be used to guide design and management of inandout port ships.
