This paper introduces the riprapping process for the east breakwater in Dongjiakou Port Area of Qingdao Port. The
calculated data of riprapping with hopper barges and open body barges were used to guide the construction process. By using
hopper barges and open body barges for a wide range of riprapping and deck barges for complementary riprapping and using
rockers for fill dumping, a process similar to the landside fill-placement technology was formed. Sweeping survey was conducted
in the process of riprapping to produce visual sectional profiles，effectively controlling the quality and cost of the riprapping for
the breakwater. Hence，the first deepwater breakwater built at the sea was smoothly completed in Dongjiakou region.
